Saturday Oct. 19 – Used but Usable Medical Equipment and Supplies Collection

Once again Sprenger Towne Center, Anne Naumann, Becki Russell and staff, are collaborating with North Coast Rotary to collect used and usable medical equipment.  Bring donations to 200 Community Drive, the Clubhouse at Sprenger Towne Center on Saturday October 19th from 10 AM – Noon.  Rotarians will help unload your items and our Rotary Medical Equipment Supplies Abroad truck will take them for storage in our MESA Warehouse in Fostoria Ohio.  Any items that can be used domestically are shared with organizations here.  Shipments to countries in need occur regularly. The most recent shipment was to Ukraine in September.  We thank you in advance for your support!

Avon Mayor Jensen, The Village of Sheffield Mayor Markovich, Avon Lake Mayor Spaetzel, Sheffield Lake Mayor Rocky Radeff and North Coast Rotary

Conversation with our Mayors is a great way to understand the vision of the four communities North Coast Rotary serves. The 4-Mayor Conference sponsored by the North Coast Chamber was an opportunity to hear our mayors’ public presentations.

In addition, Avon Mayor Bryan Jensen, The Village of Sheffield Mayor Bob Markovich and Sheffield Lake Mayor Rocky Radeff, made individual presentations and answered questions from our Rotary members at three separate meetings at the French Creek Family Y.  A big thank you to Mayor Jensen, Mayor Markovich and Mayor Radeff for taking the time to meet with us.

Special thanks to Mayor Mark Spaetzel who hosted us at Avon Lake’s City Council chambers and allowed us to hold a brief Rotary meeting there as well.

Whether its supporting economic development, people in need, our libraries, parks, our safety forces and our schools, North Coast Rotarians plan to continue the dialogue and work to make a difference!

Thank You Ridge Tool!

Craig Sumner President Professional Tools, Ridge Tool in Elyria (and an Avon Lake resident) hosted North Coast Rotarians for an informative tour throughout their facilities. While in their theater-style auditorium we learned about Ridgid’s history beginning in 1923 and their growth into a worldwide operation through their parent company Emerson.  Director of Marketing Becky Brotherton, Plant Manager Joe Hofferth, Quality Manager Dave Resor and Business Unit Manager Jackie Marsh answered questions and took us through the plant.  We were amazed by the automated robotic processes, the exceptionally clean and brightly lit facility and their advanced safety equipment.  Ridge Tool is a valued company in our region and a premier employer and we appreciated the opportunity to visit and tour.

Make Music Day Avon Lake

Celebrating with more than 1000 cities in 120 countries around the world, musicians, musical groups, singers, and performers entertained guests at Veteran’s and Bleser Park on Make Music Day Avon Lake on June 21st the summer solstice.  Despite temperatures in the mid-90’s people of all ages gathered to enjoy the multitude of performances at locations including the Bleser main stage, the porch of the Folger house, the grassy areas outside the ball fields, and the gazebo. Make Music Day Avon Lake was the inspiration of Marilyn Zeidner, Executive Director of Music on a Mission and co-founder of Project DREW.  For the 2022 event, North Coast Rotary assisted Marilyn in planning, organizing, marketing, fundraising and staffing. Read more here –  Make Music Day Avon Lake!
