In 2017 the Rotary International Board of Directors adopted a new vision statement, reflecting our aspirations for our organization and its future. It reads, “Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.”
Rotary International President Barry Rassin said in his recent presidential message, “That simple sentence distills so much of what is essential about Rotary. We unite, because we know that we are far stronger together than we could ever be alone. We take action, because we are not dreamers, but doers. We work to create lasting change that will endure long after our involvement has ended – across the globe and in our communities. And perhaps most important of all, we work to create change in ourselves – not just building a better world around us, but becoming better people ourselves.”
Our North Coast Rotary Club seeks diversity in an effort to represent the communities we serve. Members bring their experiences from banking, education, real estate, retail, small business ownership, human resources, law, community service agencies, senior care, libraries, landscaping services, etc.
We exchange ideas, bringing our expertise and diverse perspectives to help solve some of the toughest problems. The North Coast Club focuses on our youth, supporting education in ethical decision-making, public speaking, essay writing, peace building, world cultures and developing leadership skills and a lifelong commitment to community service.
We take action to bring lasting change to our communities here and around the world. Locally, we spearheaded donations from multiple rotary clubs and a matching Rotary International Grant to the Lorain County Dolly Parton Imagination Library and support for a refrigerated truck for Second Harvest. We support Community Resource Services and its Sheffield/Sheffield Lake equivalent, among other organizations. We create positive change in our communities.
In partnership with other clubs and organizations including missionaries, the North Coast Club has provided drinking water solutions in Haiti, dresses for girls at an orphanage in Uganda, Personal and School Items for children of Chinandega Nicaragua, ShelterBoxes for the displaced families of Nepal, and Medical Equipment and Supplies for countries in need.
It’s amazing what we can accomplish when hearts and minds work together!
