North Coast Rotary will resume in-person meetings next week. Our meeting site, the Avon Middle School Media Room, provides enough space for physical distancing. We will simultaneously use WebEx for those who are not available or comfortable to meet in person. Thank you to Ben Hodge and the Avon Schools for hosting us!
North Coast Rotary Foundation is pleased to award a scholarship to Brandon Thomas Doehne, a 2020 graduate of Avon High School. Brandon was the top-qualifier among a number of applicants.
Brandon Doehne
Brandon, a recipient of the Service Above SelfJane Kuzman Memorial scholarship presented a well-written and heartfelt essay. He described his plan to attend Cedarville University studying mechanical engineering. Brandon volunteered as a member of LEO Club, Key Club, NHS, Young Life and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, among other organizations and while playing varsity baseball, basketball and bowling.
It was Brandon’s participation in Friendship Club and Unified Football that led him to commit “to become a more inclusive leader in college and beyond.”
Congratulations to Brandon and all 2020 high school graduates!
North Coast Rotarians decided that instead of having their annual recognition and new officer installation event, they would use the money to buy pizza and cake for the Emergency Room Department workers at Avon Cleveland Clinic to thank them for their dedication. At noon yesterday, they delivered pizzas from Master Pizza in Avon and Pizza Hut near LCCC and a box of handy North Coast Rotary “chip bag clips”!
