New Members – Welcome!

North Coast Rotary welcomed the following new members in November and December:  Adam Ausperk, Paul Forthofer, Braeden Friss, LaSchelle Pearson-Williams, Gina Saxton, Kim Urig and Dr. Kris Walz.

Members are our greatest assets. And when we grow North Coast Rotary, we grow our service and the impact of our projects; and the awareness and understanding of Rotary in our communities.  Congratulations to our new Rotarians!

Welcome New Rotarians Cindy Kushner and Ken Mather  

Cindy Kushner and Ken Mather were inducted into the North Coast Rotary club last week by Club President Joe Matuscak.  Both are already actively involved in the community, and they look forward to doing more!  

Cindy, the Director of School & Community Partnerships at Lorain County Community College, “loves the connection with Rotary in the community and the world” and also acknowledged the importance of her ten years of military service.  

“Faith and family” are very important to Ken who has been friends with Joe Matuscak for over thirty years. Ken is serving as the Director of Business Development of Paul Davis Cleveland, a commercial restoration and emergency service provider.  

Our Rotary Club will be stronger for their membership!

Eric Stinehelfer, Executive Director of the French Creek Family YMCA in Avon, was inducted into the North Coast Rotary Club this week.  North Coast Rotary looks forward to benefitting from Eric’s experience at the Y and his twelve years at the Fostoria Rotary Club.

North Coast Rotary gets Flexible!

….with its meeting times, that is.  If a breakfast meeting doesn’t match with your busy schedule, we invite you to join us at one of our new monthly lunch meetings – the 4th Tuesday of the month at The Wine Room, 35840 Chester Road in Avon.  Lunch is served at 12:15 pm, and the meeting begins at 12:30 pm.  President Pete Sandrev has everyone out the door by 1:15 pm.  Check our website for a list of lunch dates.POA_Banners_Digital_1600x350_EN_Inspire

Already Helping – Welcome New Member Joan Leibacher

Allen Porter inducted Joan Leibacher into the club.  (President John Crooks and Past President Jinnyn Tata will serve her as her mentors.)New Member Joan Leibacher  Joan worked for Sprenger Healthcare for ten years.  In April of this year, she started her own home healthcare business, ACC Adult Home Care located in Avon.  Her business assists individuals in their homes with light housekeeping, shopping, errands, etc.  Joan lives in Lorain with her husband, Jason, and two children.  Joan is very involved in giving back especially through her church.  For Rotary, she has already contributed a box for the Children of Chinandega project.    Thanks, Joan!

Welcome New Member William Rutger

Membership Chairman Allen Porter inducted William Rutger, the new director of Avon Lake Public Library, into North Coast Rotary Club.  William grew up in the Sandusky area where his parents operate a native wildlife rescue facility.  He lives in Milan, and has three children.  William likes the idea that North Coast Rotary serves more than one community.

President Elect Pete Sandrev will serve as William’s mentor.

2017-2018 Officer Installation and Recognition Event

July marks the start of a new year for North Coast Rotary Club whose Officers  were installed at a Recognition and Installation dinner at Parkers in Avon Lake .  Assisting with the Installation are long-standing Rotarians John Daly and Susan Grachanin.   Officers for the

 

2017-2018 year include John Crooks- President, Peter Sandrev-Vice President (President Elect), Ben Hodge-Vice President Nominee, Mary Crehore-Secretary, Larry Calabrese-Treasurer, Frank Krempasky-Deputy Treasurer, Jinnyn Tata-Immediate Past President, Bob Scott-Foundation Administrative Coordinator and Linda Garceau Foundation at-Large Trustee.North Coast Rotary also recognized Curtis and Marilyn Weems for their support of Rotary through their dedicated scholarships for seniors, Pat Czech for her leadership in the preservation of student-made stained glass windows at Brookside and outgoing Foundation Administrative Coordinator Mark Musial.

 

Welcome New Member Donna Kelly

Tom Porter inducted Donna Kelly into the club.  Donna is the Branch Manager of the Avon Branch Library, which is part of the Lorain Public Library System.  Donna lives in Amherst.  She grew up in Boardman, Ohio.  Donna attended Kent State University and Miami University for her undergraduate degree.  She moved to Lorain County in 1991.  She has also worked at Domonkas Branch Library in Sheffield Lake and at Lorain’s Main library.  In May while Donna was getting to know the Club she volunteered to help in several Club’s activities – Welcome to the club Donna!
