Continuing our support for Parent Information Nights at Avon Middle School we donated refreshments and assisted with childcare.
The Club hosted a get-together with pizza for Rotarians and friends at Avon’s Wine Room; beverages, good wine or beer, casual conversation and support for our Instant Bingo Fundraiser.
But the best was when President Joe Matuscak and Maggie generously hosted the club-members and spouses and friends for a holiday social at their home. Guests enjoyed a catered meal and a “tour” of Joe’s many collections.
MESA – Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad is a 501(c)3 organization formed in 1981 by the Rotary Clubs of Ohio District 6600. North Coast has been supporting MESA with used but usable medical supplies, clothing, educational resources and more donated by our community members, donors from Community Resource Services, and local businesses and stored in a trailer made available by Rotarian Doug Maurer. Sprenger Healthcare Towne Center also collected equipment and supplies, stored them locally and made them available for a collection day in August. At MESA’s warehouse in Fostoria, Ohio, donations are sorted, stored and subsequently into a shipping container destined for a port of a local rotary club for distribution. This year over 30 containers have been shipped including 12 to Ukraine.
Rotarians also provide financial support and participate in MESA’s annual bike ride fundraiser. This year cyclists rode through our service areas and Tri-C Westshore generously hosted North Coast Rotarians and the MESA bike riders for lunch.
North Coast Rotary will be continuing to collect used but usable medical supplies for MESA.
